Blanket-my mother archetype

Do you know what things it is? maybe several people can guess it right. It's my blanket, actually it's a sarong Bali, but it's so warm n comfy to be used as a blanket. It makes me feel save n secure when i sleep.

Related to those feelings, i remembered that i've learnt about this in my bachelor degree. It's related to Jung's theory (Carl Gustav Jung-an psychoanalyst). One of his theory said that "we would never have survived without our connection with a nurturing-one during our times as helpless infants. It stands to reason that we are built in a way that reflects that evolutionary environment : we come into this world ready to want mother, to seek her, to recognize her, to deal with her."

As we grow to an adult phase, we have to become more independence. If we have close attachment to our mother, people will see us as a spoilt person, unmature one. So in order to seek mother figure that reflect secure feelings, we substitute that mother figure to another things which is called by mother archetype. Mother archetype is our built in ability to recognize a certain raltionship, that of "mothering" (my dictate-by Mba Della). Even when an archetype doesn't have a particular real person available, we tend to personify the archetype, that is, turn it into a mythological "story book" character.

For me, my blanket is my mother archetype. When i was a child, i slept in one bed with her till my teenager moment. I feel so secure cause she's around me. So after i'm adult, i seek those secure feeling n i found it with my blanket as a substitute things for my mother presence.

SO....What is your mother archetype??
